The extensive damage sustained to the Haas car put an end to the rookie’s day of work

Nicholas Latifi and Mick Schumacher have both crashed in the third free practice session in Monaco.
The German driver sustained heavy damage to his Haas, causing a red flag that brought the session to an end. He was out of the car safely seconds after the hit to the barriers. The accident happened in the last few seconds of the FP3 and also meant his day of work was over since there wouldn’t be enough time for the team to fix the car for qualifying.
Both drivers are racing in Monaco in an F1 car for the first time this weekend. Latifi has been a Williams driver since 2020 when the race was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schumacher is in his debut season in the series.
Latifi and Schumacher also had incidents in the FP1 and FP2 on Thursday.
