Canadian driver Nicholas Latifi lost control of his Williams during the third free practice for the 2021 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, damaging his front wing and causing a brief red flag on Saturday.

The #6 driver went wind and found the barriers while exiting turn 5, a part of the track known as ‘Variante Villeneuve’, after legendary Canadian driver and Ferrari idol Gilles Villeneuve.

Latifi had front wing damage, but made it back to the pits seconds after hitting the wall. The accident triggered a red flag, causing a six-minute stoppage for stewards to clear debris.

Max Verstappen topped the session, setting a 1:14.958 lap time, to Lando Norris, 0s456 slower, and Lewis Hamilton. Sergio Pérez got the other Red Bull to fourth, followed by Charles Leclerc. Lance Stroll was 13th.
